“ Lovely spot with fresh pastries! I tried the almond and chocolate almond croissant. The almond flavor is strong, so I wouldn't recommend unless you're a big fan of almond paste. Otherwise, the crust itself is perfect moist and flaky. Delicious! ”
“ One of my favorite bakeries in the city! Their babkas are some of the best I've ever had, and all their pastries/breads are excellent! I especially love the cheese straws and the burekas. They also have a small cafe in the back serving coffee and bagels, sandwiches, salads, etc. with limited seating. ”
“ One of the best baguette I ever had. Really loved everything I tried there. The croissants were great with a nice fresh crunch and I think sourdough flavor (maybe just preferment?) and immaculate crumb structure. The workers were fast, informative, and polite. Would come back in a heartbeat. So sad the Jerusalem bagels weren't availabl... maybe next time! ”
“ Got the garlic/onion stick and oatmeal cookie. I prob should order a soup to go with the breadstick. It was hard to bite in but flavor is good. Service at the front is quick. There's another hot food section at the back, that line is pretty long. Some tables and seats in a small area. Not a place to sit and chat. ”
“ Great spot for babka! There's a large selection of baked goods, as well as a small cafe selling drinks and lunch food. Really nice, cozy, and clean. We got their famous chocolate babka $17.50, and we split this among four people. I also got their super fruit iced tea (and was generally very impressed by the selection of cold teas that were available)! Note that the seating is very limited on the weekends, so we had to stand while trying the babka. Staff were friendly and there was one staff member handing out samples of their carrot cake, which was also yummy. ”
“ This bakery is so delicious and easy to get to by the trains my experience is so great I enjoy the bakery I love the pies Bonita Barbara from Brooklyn ”
“ **babka only review** No concerns about being forced to buy a cinnamon babka ("the lesser babka") here: there are always plenty of pre-bagged chocolate loaves ready to go. In fact, it seems that prepackaged is the only way Breads sells their babkas, as I never see any fresh-out-of-the-oven ones. That's okay, though, as the loaves taste really fresh anyway, and their format makes it super easy to grab a bag for a dinner party or for gifting while out of town. Note that at $17 per loaf, they're a bit pricey. The babka itself is sooo good. The challah bread is soft and sweet with a crumbly crust. The swirls of dark chocolate and Nutella are creamy and decadent. ”
“ After all these years, Breads continue to be one of my favorite go to spots for all kinds of pastries. The staff is always ultra friendly and is always helpful with selections and variety. The sit-down space is a nice touch but weather permitting it is much nicer to sit and dip in USP. After more than 10 years of visits, I finally got a chance to try the famous chocolate babka and what an experience it was! Looking forward to another 10 years of tasty visits and discoveries to come. ”
“ Been wanting to try their take on the classic Black and white cookie for a while. Very flakey and croissant like with a delicious filling and frosting. Loved it. "Look to the cookie" a cookie this good could end racism. ”
